Zed Diaz

Artist Bio

Zed is a Queer Chicana multimedia artist based in Oakland, CA. She has a B.F.A from UC Berkeley. Her subjects are intersectionality, identity, and the body, and she work towards exposing the forced normativity and repression of our bodies. As an interdisciplinary artist, Zed uses her background in sociology and social justice to make art to de-marginalize, to normalize experiences, celebrate difference, or bring awareness of various identities and physical conditions. Each concept implies its own medium often commanding works with both conventional and unconventional materials and methods.
