Anti-Surveillance makeup and accessory workshop

This performance was a workshop tutorial on masking your identity from facial recognition technology using makeup. Participants were taught how to create makeup looks and fabric accessories to hide their identity from surveillance. By appropriating makeup as an anti-surveillance tool, we can show the dynamism of makeup as something beyond a gendered beauty product, and instead as a tool for both artistic and resistance practices for all genders.

How Do We Heal?

Audre Lorde said, "Caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation, and that is an act of political warfare." How do we care for ourselves and our communities? How do we share this knowledge? How do we heal from and reduce the harm of systematic violence against queer people of color, particularly black queer and trans people? How Do We Heal shares collective healing knowledge sourced through audience members of #DignityinProcess and is open to contributions.
